This Spring, Mark got together with Matt, Todd & Jonathan in Syracuse for their “Growth Group.” It was another great reminder of how impactful it is to surround yourself with people who share similar values, integrity, vision, and a desire to keep getting better.

Five years ago, Mark didn’t even know these guys. Today, he considers them close friends. Yes, they're in the same industry, but more importantly, they care deeply about their families, employees, clients, and doing the right thing day after day. They challenge each other, support each other, laugh a lot, and continue pushing one another to grow both personally and professionally.

Relationships like these don’t happen by accident. They happen through intentional time, honest conversations, mutual respect, and a willingness to invest in each other.

Mark was excited to participate in the New York Corn & Soybean Growers Association’s annual planning meeting this March. It’s a tremendous organization doing incredible work for growers across New York, and there are some exciting things on the horizon!

Congrats to Gerri Harrison CFP® EA® on earning the Tax Planning Certified Professional® (TPCP®) designation from The American College of Financial Services!

The TPCP® designation is a recognized mark of excellence in tax planning, reflecting advanced knowledge in retirement and investment strategies, estate planning, and tax-efficient solutions for complex financial needs. 

Another great year at the New York State Agricultural Society Annual Forum! The forum once again showcased the strength, resilience, and future of New York agriculture. We are proud to support the people and communities that make it thrive. Mark was honored to chair the Next Generation Farmer Award and present it to John Kelder, a truly deserving farmer from the Hudson Valley. Congrats, John! 

So grateful for this incredible LWA of NY team. We came together for a holiday lunch to enjoy great company, reflect on another successful year, and celebrate the teamwork and dedication that drive our business forward. Thank you to everyone who makes our work meaningful every day. Happy Holidays!

This month, our entire team had the opportunity to come together at Celebrations on Park in Binghamton, NY, where we had the pleasure of meeting many of Gerri’s clients. 

We were proud to collect donations for the local food bank during the event—thank you to all of our clients who joined us and contributed so generously! It was a great event!

Mark had the opportunity to attend the JW Cole Annual Symposium on beautiful Amelia Island, Florida, joining nearly 700 financial professionals from across the country. The week was filled with valuable discussions, industry insights, and shared best practices — all aimed at helping advisors grow, adapt, and better serve their clients. 

Mark had the privilege of attending the AssetMark Platinum Advisors Summit in Santa Barbara, CA this month. The conference focused on creating meaningful impact for clients, with powerful sessions on everything from the economy and AI to new investment products and thoughtful portfolio design. It was an energizing few days of learning, sharing ideas with friends and colleagues, and walking away with renewed purpose and inspiration.

This August we are celebrating Nicole's 10-year anniversary with LWA of NY! We are so grateful for all that Nicole has done for our clients and our team. She is a huge part of our success and a great friend to have. Congrats, Nicole!

It's official! The pink stamp says it all. This month, Keegan passed the New York Notary Exam. We are thrilled to have a notary in our office. Congrats, Keegan! 

The 2025 Women of Cole Conference was held at The Lake House on Canandaigua, offering a beautiful and inspiring setting to reconnect with colleagues and meet many new faces in the industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to relax, reconnect, and refocus on what drives us in the financial planning business.

We are proud to welcome Gerri A. Harrison, CFP, EA, to Legacy Wealth Advisors of NY! Gerri brings over 30 years of experience as a certified financial planner and tax professional. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to many years of collaboration and success together!

Last week Mark traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, to attend the AssetMark 2025 Gold Forum. Over 1,500 attendees, including around 700 advisors from across the country, came together for this two-and-a-half-day symposium. It was an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day grind and immerse in learning, networking, and recharging for the work ahead.

The New York Corn & Soybean Growers Association Winter Expo is always a highlight of the season for the agriculture industry. Mark was honored to be part of the agenda for this incredible event, which brings together dedicated agricultural professionals and growers from across the state. Congratulations to the NYCSGA for organizing another outstanding event!

Mark was thrilled to support and play a role in the New York State Agricultural Society’s Annual Forum this January. It was another fantastic event, brought to life by a group of dedicated individuals. Congratulations to all the award winners for their well-deserved recognition! Here’s to another successful year in New York agriculture!

Speaking in the leadership track, he explored the theme of bridging tradition with innovation and change.

Mark had a fantastic time in Austin, TX at the J.W. Cole Annual Symposium, staying up to date on the latest industry trends and insights. We're excited for a strong finish to 2024 and an even better 2025 ahead!

LWA of NY has long been a supporter of the agricultural industry in New York. Over the last few weeks, our team was proud to volunteer at and support the Dairy Cow Birthing Center and the Mobile Dairy Experience at this year's State Fair!

Our team got to spend time with Zac and Jonathan from the J.W. Cole Home Office at The Barn today! 

We are excited to share that Mark recently had the opportunity to engage with our B/D Partners at the J.W. Cole Advisor Excellence Forum in Tampa, Florida. This event provided valuable time for networking and learning, as it brought together industry leaders to discuss the latest trends and strategies in financial advising.

Mark was out and about visiting and working side by side with dairy farmers... connecting to the industry face to face! 

This year's New York State Agricultural Society Annual Forum was held in Syracuse on Thursday, January 11th.  It was a great success! Happy to be part of the Ag Society!

At LWA of NY, we value NYS agriculture! This month we continued backing the Dairy Industry by volunteering at NYAAC’s Dairy Cow Birthing Center at The Great New York State Fair, just like in previous years. It's a special day where we help family farms show the public what goes on daily to produce milk.

Last weekend our team got together and celebrated one of our own. Keegan and Nick tied the knot on Saturday, and we were able to cheer them on... and eat cake! Congrats to Keegan and Nick!

Recently, we had the opportunity to gather at the Barn on Collamer Road and engage with investment advisors from JP Morgan and Savos Investments. Jeff, Mark, and other local investment advisors joined us for a productive session where we discussed, learned, and actively inquired about the prevailing market conditions, portfolio design, and upcoming prospects in the investment landscape. Additionally, we delved into the exploration of trends and future opportunities. It was a valuable occasion for knowledge sharing and gaining insights into the dynamic world of investments. #AssetMark #JPMorgan #SavosInvestments

Last week Mark and Jeff traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to attend the AIMCOR Group 2023 Producer Conference. Hundreds of insurance professionals came together to network and learn. Mark and Jeff heard from several speakers on trends and product solutions within the Life, Disability, Long Term Care and Annuity product lines from several carriers.  They were also able to spend time with our KAFL support team, Peter, Lorrie and Lisa!

Last week Mark traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to attend the AssetMark Gold Forum. Almost 1,000 investment professionals came together to network, learn, and ask questions. Mark heard from several speakers on topics like the economy, investment trends, new products, services, and technology.  He was also able to spend time with his AssetMark support team, Matt, Mike, and Stephanie! #AssetMark #GoldForum

Last week our team was honored to play a role in the NYS Ag Society’s 191^st Annual Forum.  Disruption Eruption: Discovering new opportunities in Agriculture.  What a great program!  With visits from Commissioner Richard Ball and Governor Kathy Hochul, the meeting was a great success! #nysagsociety
